Item Description
This rare ring was offered very briefly by Annie's radio sponsor Quaker Cereals in the summer of 1941 with an expiration date of 8/30/41. Promotional text in ads of that day instruct the reader to order “Before Orphan Annie Comes Back On The Air Next Fall.” Ring has initials “SG” intertwined on each side while the top has her portrait covered by a small magnifying glass in a brass frame with a tiny pin near its upper edge so the frame can be swiveled to the side. This allows for its use as a magnifying glass. While the ring is missing vast majority of its luster flashing, the brass surfaces are exceptionally bright and clean and the ring displays very much like a truly Mint example. Values in the current Hake Pop Culture guide are $500-Good; $1,100-Fine, $2,250-N. Mint. We would grade this ring as exceedingly Fine.
