Item Description
Lot of 3 single panel pen and ink/charcoal original art cartoons on thin illustration boards. First is 11x13.75" titled "Medicare" by "Birmingham News" cartoonist Charles Brooks. Depicts JFK in doctor's outfit walking along "Business" man taking his pulse and listening to his heartbeat w/stethoscope. Doctor's bag has large "Tax Cut" needle. Brooks has added "Best Regards Brooks 8-24-62" in upper right corner. Exc. 11.25x14.25" cartoon for "The Hovering Spirit" reveals in-fighting amongst N.Y. Democrats as large JFK appears overhead. By Albany, NY. "Knickerbocker News" cartoonist Jerry Costello. Exc. Last is 14x18" and is titled "On Second Thought We've Got Quite A Bit In Common" and shows JFK and Khrushchev sitting on the large feet marked "Sino-Soviet Cold-War." By "Detroit News" cartoonist Art Poinier and is dated Jun. 14, 1963. Exc. All come w/matching mats w/cartoon title labels at bottoms and artists' label at tops.
