Item Description
4.25x8.75x6.5" tall. This radio is a prototype and we know of only a few others. As far as we know, it was never put into production. Underside is marked "Made In U.S.A. By Wm. Rogers & Son" who made a wide variety of Disney silverware and related products. Underside also has copyright with text "By Special Permission Walt Disney Enterprises." Radio has an open back and is complete with original tubes, wiring, antenna, etc. This radio had a separate attachment of a special plug and electric cord which is no longer present. Front features raised image of Mickey playing a large base drum and this image is 4.5x4.5". Die-cut openings behind him are around the fabric speaker covering which is complete and original. Has both original bakelite knobs although one has a .25" edge chip. The body of the radio itself has brilliant full bright luster. Displays Exc. Among the very best, highest quality and most impressive Disney items we've ever offered. We have only offered this radio one other time in our 41 years, this was is 2004 and that example sold for nearly $7,000. From the Michael J. Stern Collection.
