8.5x10.25". 58 pages. ©1940 by Hillman-Curl. Text by Deirdre and William Conselman, Jr. Drawings by Fred L. Fox. Book depicts Hitler as a buffoon and minor nuisance on the world stage. Published in 1940, it was difficult to predict or understand Hitler's power and influence on the world. Written in a child's storybook format. The text on the back of the dust jacket explains "The Book For Children From 6 To 60, A Living Proof That As Long As KEEDLE Can Be Written And Published, The World We Know Is Safe. The Keedles Will Never Conquer Us No Matter How Many Cannon And Guns And Submarines They Use To Murder Us". Because we can laugh and they can't. Strange to say our laughter will prove their undoing. Illustrations depict numerous Hitler influences including: Keedle's Kampf, character grows a mustache and becomes dictator, figureless helmets with rifles and bayonets are depicted with goose feet (as in the goose step), etc. Dust jacket shows moderate wear/aging.
