Item Description
From 1934 w/heavy cardboard box measuring 10.5x5.5x1.75" deep. Box lid has illustrated label which includes the diamond shape "Trade Mark" of the maker "C.K." as well as"Copyright Walt.Disney Enterprises, Ltd." Box lid has one vertical corner split neatly repaired on the interior and just the tiniest bit of excess surface paper on the bottom left corner. Overall box remains VF. Toy consists of a wire frame 9x4x9" tall w/windup mechanism mounted to one of the vertical rods. At the center of the piece are a pair of large trapeze-like wire frames and between these fits a metal tube painted in stripes like a candy cane. Through this tube are a pair of metal pins and upon these pins are positioned a pair of 3.5" tall three-dimensional figures of Mickey and Minnie, each standing on a ball. Both have movable arms and Mickey holds a metal ring while Minnie holds a bell. The Minnie ball also has a small paper sticker w/Disney Enterprises copyright. There is a diecut stiff cardboard canopy, rather tent-shaped, that fits over the curved top wires of the toy. In operation, the wire tube moves left and right over a length of 3" or 4" while each of the celluloid figures moves about on its vertical pin w/Mickey shaking his hoop and Minnie's bell ringing.Minnie figure has slight indent on face done at time of production. The toy is essentially Mint as made. We know of only a couple examples and this is the first example we've ever offered. From the Deak Stagemyer Collection.
