Item Description
Pair of 10.5x12.5" acetate sheets have hand-painted image area measuring 7-3/8x7-5/8" overall to form 2-cel setup showing iconic full figure image of Cinderella receiving her ballgown. Top cel features the magic twinkling effects seen when Cinderella's Fairy Godmother changes her rags to the beautiful gown Cinderella wore to the ball as seen in the 1950 Disney animated feature film. Tiny flake of black paint from Cinderella's necklace/collar has stuck to top cel, o/w cel's paint is fully intact. Displays Exc. and comes w/slightly larger hand-painted presentation bkg. which color and theme seen in this iconic scene. Original production artwork from Cinderella rarely comes up for sale as this Disney feature film was released after the Courvoisier studio closed in the late 1940s, and before the Disney Corner Store opened in 1955. This gap in time meant that at the time there was nowhere for the public to obtain art from this beloved film directly from Disney. This exemplary Disney art would make for a beautiful framed display.
