Item Description
11x16-3/8" artboard has pen and ink original art for page 40 of Moon Knight #35, published by Marvel Jan. 1984. Art is by Bob McLeod, a comic artist and inker best-known for co-creating The New Mutants and for his work as an inker on The Incredible Hulk, Conan The Barbarian, Legion Of Super Heroes, Detective Comics, Wonder Woman and The New Titans as well as penciling Star Wars and several Spider-Man fill-ins. Art features four panels and shows the Fantastic Four's Thing struggling to hold up balcony so crowd can escape. Just in time, he is joined by Colossus of the X-Men, who bolsters his support. Last panel shows injured Moon Knight being battered by Bora (in her debut), a mutant w/the ability to summon arctic winds. Thing appears in two panels, Colossus appears in one as does both Moon Knight and Bora. Captions and dialogue balloons are hand-lettered paste-overs which have darkened w/age. Some have been taped to artboard. Top margin has stamped title and inked page/issue numbers and has been signed in black felt tip pen by McLeod. Marvel copyright inkstamp on back. Left/right and bottom margins have some blue pencil editorial notations. Top left and bottom corners have been clipped, not affecting art. Art has some staining to first panel and aforementioned tape. VF overall.
