Item Description
2.5x3.5" trading card. The 1958 Topps football series features an oval photo of the player on front and a bright red background on back. Card name "Jimmy Brown" Fullback Cleveland Browns. Consisting of 132 cards, centering presents a major challenge in trying to locate high grade examples from this set. Although a second year card of Johnny Unitas is included, by far the most desirable and most valuable card from 1958 is the Jim Brown rookie card. Jim Brown was a first round draft pick by the Cleveland Browns in 1956 and after only nine seasons in the NFL retired holding several records, including the all time rushing record later broken by Walter Payton. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame in 1971 and was named the greatest professional football player ever by the Sporting News in 2002. CSG-graded 4.5 VG/EX+.
