Item Description
13x16" mat contains acetate animation cel featuring rear view of Taarna - a beautiful warrioress and the last of the Taarakians - on her avian mount, flying to the aid of a barbarian-beleaguered city, only to find the citizens dead. Cel has image area measuring 2.25x4.25" and lower left has embossed seal noting "Original - Hand Painted Production Cel. Cel comes w/printed bkg. showing the empty city. Cel is from Heavy Metal, the 1981 Canadian-American adult animated science-fantasy anthology film directed by Gerald Potterton, produced by Ivan Reitman and Leonard Mogel, who also was the publisher of Heavy Metal magazine, which was the basis for the film. Exc. and ready for framed display.
