Item Description
5-7/8x18-3/8" artboard features pen and ink original art (w/screentone accents) for Oct. 9, 1964 Rip Kirby daily strip by John Prentice (1920-1999), the cartoonist who took over Rip Kirby art duties after the passing of co-creator Alex Raymond in 1956. Prentice would remain on the strip for 43 years, until his own death in 1999. Art features three panels, showing Rip Kirby and his butler Desmond taking drive to pick up Tiny, a large Great Dane. Prentice has signed and dated lower right corner of last panel. Second panel has KFS copyright strip. Second panel has aged screentone, but o/w art remains clean and Exc. Strip of white paper tape along top margin on back.
