Item Description
10-5/8x15.75" artboard features pen and ink original art for page 23 of House Of Secrets #116, published by DC Comics Feb. 1974. Art is by Ramona Fradon, a comic artist known for her work illustrating Aquaman and Brenda Starr, and co-creating the superhero Metamorpho. Art is for flashback sequence from Puglyon's Crypt storyline and tells the story of how man develops fear of premature burial. Page features six panels and each of the four flashback panels features portrait of the man now beside text telling his story. Top margin has stamped title and inked issue/page numbers w/month of publication. Back has been signed in black ink by Fradon, who adds "To Peter" inscription. Word replacement strip added to last panel w/tape on back of artboard. Slight trim to top margin and thin strips of tape staining at center left/right and bottom margins, not affecting art. Artboard has scattered handling wear, most prevalent at top left and lower left. Corner creases. Fine overall, but art remains clean and would make for Exc. matted and framed display.
