Item Description
9-5/8x13" artboard mounted to thin cardboard features pen and ink original art for cover to Durango Kid #21, published by Magazine Enterprises Feb./March 1953. Art is by Fred Guardineer (1913-2003), a comic book writer/artist best known for his work in the 1930s and 1940s. Art features great action scene showing the Durango Kid tossing knife-wielding opponent w/his legs. Guardineer has initialed art at lower right. Artboard has thin rectangle at upper left for title, which has been faintly penciled in. Margins have some faint pencil notations and scattered aging w/two small spots of glue staining, not affecting art area, which remains clean. Artboard has been mounted to thin cardboard, which has some handwritten notes and two small stickers on back. Cardboard has number of creases across surface, and artboard has faint corresponding creases. Fine/VF overall.
