Item Description
Lot of five 7.25x20.5" thin artboards w/India ink original art for five consecutive daily strips - Aug. 12-16, 1974. Art is by by Dick Tracy creator Chester Gould and artboards feature two to four panels and deal w/tornado storyline, showing bare-chested Dick Tracy and Sam Catchem searching amongst destroyed buildings looking for Mrs. Fencer's body, communicating w/Chief Brandon via 2-Way Wrist TVs. Groovy Grove and other police officers arrive in Skyway Patrol air cars. They find Mrs. Fencer's lifeless body in tree in Aug. 16 daily strip. Aug. 12 strip has stat paste-over in first panel, rest is all original art. Gould has signed each artboard and each has Chicago Tribune copyright strips. Top margins have stamped "Tracy" title and inked dates. Pin holes at corners and across top margins w/a few scattered pin holes to bottom margins. Art remains clean and Exc. Difficult to find consecutive art for full week of stories.
