Item Description
Six 11.5x14.5" Strathmore artboards feature pen and ink original (w/screentone accents) art by Dennis Ellefson for 12 O'Clock High spoof 12 O'Clock Hi Noon, published in DRAG Cartoons #18 in 1965. Story lampoons the 1964-1967 World War II TV series 12 O'Clock High and features crash landing in Nazi Germany, w/character played by Robert Lansing heading to blow-up Nazi aircraft factory. Instead, he steals a Messerschmitt Bf 109 (w/aged "Schneider Racing Cams" Iron Cross stat paste-over) and crashes it back at base w/photo paste-over of Lansing lamenting his replacement (the actor's character was killed off at the end of the show's first season to cast a younger-looking lead). Fourth page also has photo paste-over. Each artboard has inked page/issue number and stamped area for printer job information that has been filled in. Artboards have some scattered aging and margin wear but art remains clean and VF/Exc. From the Archives of Publisher Pete Millar.
