Item Description
See previous two items. Offered here is 11.5x14.5" totally hand-made prototype placemat design on thin artboard w/meticulously hand-cut pieces and hand-done accents, outlines, details in ink and paint. This concept was proposed for both Quaker and Post cereal mascots. 1960s. Prototype depicts Post Rice Krinkles cereal mascot So-Hi. Flesh-colored paper applied to artboard w/stiff painted yellow hat, hair and eyes. Red "So-Hi" name on hat, nose and tongue are also applied cut-outs as are white accents on sides of face. All line work has been hand-done. Back has "A Creation Of Sam Gold - Premium King" foil crown sticker. Age spotting to hat (most prevalent at left corner) and some aging to tiny strips of tape used to secure fine point of name. White face accents also exhibit some trace aging. Fine/VF. An exceptional, one-of-a-kind piece for the cereal collector. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
