Item Description
11x17" Image Comics artboard has pen and ink original art for page 18 of "Supreme" #41, published by Image Aug. 1992. Originally a violent, Superman-like character created by Rob Liefeld, Supreme was retooled by Alan Moore, given a softer edge as a tribute to the Silver Age Superman, as seen here. Pencils by Joe Bennett w/inks by Norm Rapmund. Page features four panels, showing Supreme confused by the "Land Of A Thousand Supremes," greeting Kid Supreme and Probe/Lady Supreme who explain that there are multiple versions of Supreme characters, w/Kid Supreme introducing his fiancée Sally Supreme (herself a spoof of Mary Marvel), before departing. Last panel features another Supreme character trying to explain comic book revisions/reboots as part of the story's continuity. Top margin has applied strip w/printed title and issue/page numbers. Bennett's name has been inked to right of this and Rapmund has signed in black ink at upper right. Approval inkstamp on back. Art remains Exc.
