Item Description
6-5/8x20.5" artboard features four panels of pen and ink original art by "Archie" co-creator Bob Montana. Art is for the June 15, 1956 daily strip and features Jughead and Archie together in Archie's room (which has a framed picture of Veronica on the wall), Jughead picking on Archie's pink underwear, pajamas, sheets and pillow cases, commenting "Archie, Have You Gone Sissie?" Archie replies that it was his mother's idea, revealing he had put red socks in the laundry in last panel. Archie appears in every panel, Jughead appears in first three. Montana has signed and dated last panel which has double McClure Newspaper Syndicate paste-overs. Penciled date at upper right margin. Back has photo engraver inkstamp. Artboard has evenly aged screentone accents and some staining surrounding them. First panel has white correction fluid to Archie's arms over screentone. First and third panels have paste-over strips w/edited text. Art displays VF.
