Item Description
Extensive lot of 14 pieces dating from 1944 to 1950. All involve/pertain to Louise Bauer, noted pottery artist who produced items for various companies and of various subject matter, including Disney.
Original concept art includes -
- 10x12" vellum sheet w/colored pencil image of "Cinderella And The Pumpkin Planter" w/Disney Character Merchandising Div. inkstamp. Sheet has been stapled at corners to stiff paper. Sheet has moderate aging and shows wear w/edge creases and tears at corners; loose at top left/bottom right. Good.
- 7.5x11" stiff sheet w/painted color art design for a Donald Duck cookie jar. Sheet has some scattered aging and is Fine overall, but art remains clean and would display Exc. if matted.
- Pair of 8x11" Walt Disney Burbank, CA envelopes, one w/pencil art concept sketches of Snow White wishing well. Scattered aging/handling wear. Fine/VF overall.
- Four typed letters on Kay Kamen and/or Disney-related letterheads pertaining to model sheets to be used for reference during the creation of new products, possible merchandise projects, Disney films (including "Song Of The South"), etc. Two have been signed by Kamen himself (signed simply "K") while one letter is TLS from Cinderella Unusual Cosmetics, Inc. and is addressed to Leeds China Company representative. Back has extensive handwritten notes to Bauer on back. Letters have been folded as mailed and show some scattered aging. Fine to VF. Letters come w/two different Kay Kamen envelopes and two different Walt Disney Productions envelopes; each featuring Mickey Mouse image.
- Railway Express Agency shipping receipt noting "1 Pkg Ceramics" from Bauer to Walt Disney Productions.
- Lot also includes partial brown paper wrapping w/Kay Kamen Mickey Mouse mailing label addressed to Bauer. Paper has "Books" pencil notation, referring to likely reference material sent to Bauer.
Great content throughout. Varying degrees of aging/wear; Good to VF overall. A truly unique lot.
