Item Description
DC. Issue #1 (Spring 1940) features first appearance of The Joker and The Cat (Catwoman). Hugo Strange appearance. Batman and Robin pin-up on back cover. Issue #2 (Summer 1940) features second appearance of The Joker and The Cat (Catwoman). Full page ad for 1940 "New York World's Fair Comics." Both issues have Bill Finger stories. Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson cover and art. Issues have been trimmed on all sides. Each bound into a signature, glued into spine and between boards. Volume has not been finished off w/any cover material but has end papers in place w/binding tape around all edges. Both issues are complete w/32 pages plus front/back covers. Issue #1 has color touches on cover at staples. Issue #2 has lamination on front and back covers. Tape along spine of back cover. Cream to off-white pages on both. Pages supple w/some minor edge tears on a few pages. Issue #2 has two pages w/small upper right corners missing. First page of issue #2 has "Collection Of" stamp at top right and small illegible penned inscription/name. Overall issues are complete and in nice condition. Covers are Fine in appearance w/VF pages. Issues are sold as is in this bound edition. Rare find.
