Item Description
8.5x11" certificate features same basic design as in the previous lot (including same superheroes shown) but w/some slightly different text. This includes the phrase "Help Win The Peace" rather than "Help Win The War." This is in reference to the surrender of Japan on August 15, 1945. General MacArthur and US troops had been put in charge of keeping peace in Japan. So this certificate was put into use after that date. With World War II over, the club was discontinued in Dec. 1945, accounting for the rarity of this variety, which saw limited distribution. It should also be noted that the headquarters address had reverted back to 480 Lexington Ave. Folded into quarters w/trace aging, which is more evident on blank back than front. Unused w/lines remaining blank. Fine. This is the actual example shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
