Item Description
Two thin artboards fit together, measuring 13-7/8x23" w/India ink original art by "Blondie" creator Chic Young. Art is for Oct. 19, 1986 and features 13 panels. First panel has title stat paste-over. Art features Dagwood realizing he forgot his keys (automatically thinking he locked himself and Blondie out of their house) and the comedy of errors that follow him trying to get into the house, including borrowing ladder from supporting character and neighbor Herb. Dagwood gains entry to the house through an unlocked window, only to find Blondie already in bed. She tells him the front door was unlocked the whole time. Dagwood appears in 12 panels, Blondie in three and Herb in just one. Young and Drake signature w/date in last panel. Fifth panel has King Features Syndicate copyright strip. Art remains clean and Exc. overall. A funny, well-drawn example.
