8-7/8x12" vellum sheet features all lead pencil original art for cereal box back advertising "Moon Explorer" premium designed to look like lunar rover w/astronaut driver that is gravity-powered and stops at edges of table; hand-lettered text notes "With Automatic Stop Crater Detector." 1969. Sheet margins have some scattered wear w/small tears/chips and is Fine/VF overall w/Exc. art. Comes w/8.5x11" sheet of construction paper (w/pegholes along left) w/attached 6.75/8x9" stat sheet (featuring art as seen on vellum sheet) at center that has been nicely hand-colored. Exc. Lot also includes another vellum sheet w/detailed lead pencil original art featuring schematics for the premium toy's parts while three other extensive sheets filled out in ink deal w/the production process for this premium, including sheets dated late Aug./early Sept. (one month after the landing of Apollo 11 on July 20, 1969), showing a rush to capitalize on the historic event. Comes w/several stats, including one that has been hand-colored. Lot offers great insight into the development of a premium. Unique. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
