Item Description
11x15" paper envelope has prototype grease pencil original art on front as envelope was to serve as premium gameboard. 1950s. Extensive hand-lettered "Trip To Mars Game Rules" text at bottom w/neat futuristic art along the game path, including seven "Space Station" checkpoints and "Lunar City Finish." Additionally, art features rocketships along game path labeled "Martians Attack!" Bottom left corner features spaceman and woman w/rocketship. Back of envelope feature penciled "Helmet Launcher" note (referencing art on included sheets). Envelope has moderate margin aging and corner tip wear, w/1.25" split at top left corner, which shows moderate foxing. This does not affect art. Fine overall. Comes w/three approx. 10.75x14.5" cardstock sheets w/pencil outlines for mock-up punch-out sheet, including parts for aforementioned helmet, launcher, etc. Exc. Unique lot. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
