Item Description
Sam Gold designed many premium masks over the years, w/most being produced by Einson-Freeman. Offered here are a pair of 1950s mask prototypes, each featuring mixed media original art. Elaborate 9.75x12" die-cut stiff paper mask w/vividly colored and features "Mars Man" hand-lettered name on image of Mars between eyes. Mask is flanked on left/right by pair of code wheel images and mask features die-cut antennas. Back has detailed, hand-lettered text concerning "Martian Secret Code" as well as text information about "Mars - The Red Planet." Additional hand-lettered assembly instructions by tabs w/attached string. Back has some scattered dust soiling and front has .25" splotch of paint at top center, but this does not greatly distract. Still displays VF/Exc. Clown mask is 10x11" and has "Koko" name painted in large open mouth, which also has premium sponsor name painted over. Slot in mouth under name, likely for tongue attachment. 2" tear at one ear and moderate dust soiling. Ears also have some aged rubberband piece attached. VG overall. Unique pair. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
