Item Description
14x11" sketch on vellum mounted to center of 11x15" white paper. Produced by David Byrd c.2005 after attending the funeral of promoter Bill Graham and embarking on a series of posters for Fillmore East shows that didn't originally have posters and expanding to include this Lou Reed piece. Included is the final print a 17x22" poster on archival paper using UltraChrome Pigmented inks that is inscribed in pencil in the lower right margin "Lou Reed World Tour 1974" and signed at left "19 David E Byrd 74". Mint. See previous item #2323 for original cover sketches for Lou Reed's Sally Can't Dance album.

Speaking to this design Byrd notes "This is a design I created in 2005 when I started my "Fillmore East Series". When I was at Bill's Funeral, David Graham (Bill's son) & Kip Cohen
(Fillmore East Manager) suggested I should think about creating a series
of posters for Fillmore East Shows that never had a poster. So I began the series
in 2005 with "The Doors" March performance in 1968 - and continued
with it till recently.  I always do pencil sketches which I scan and use to
build the design on my Mac."
