Item Description
10.5x15-5/8" artboard has pen and ink original art for page 4 of "World's Finest Comics" #214, published by DC Comics Nov. 1972. Art by Dick Dillon, noted for his 12-year run as artist of "Justice League Of America," drawing 115 issues from 1968 until 1980, w/inks by Joe Giella. Six panel page features news reporters gathered about discussing the merits of new Western hero The Vigilante over Superman. Shadowy figure is seen cutting rope securing cattle herd, who stampede toward The Vigilante and Clark Kent in last panel. Top margin has been trimmed and has label partially obscuring inkstamped "World's Finest" title. Issue/page numbers are inked at top. Top/bottom and left/right center margins have tape staining. Artboard is Fine/VF while art remains clean and Exc.
