10.75x12.75x3.75” deep box has illustrations of “Cosmic Vision Helmet” and spacecraft holding the Tom Corbett Space Cadet cast. By Practi-Cole Products, Inc. c. 1950s. Box has a .75x3” surface paper lift on lid as well as a 2x2.25” area of staining on right-hand side panel. Box lid edges have some minor chipping but box has great graphics and remains tight and sturdy. Fine. Helmet itself measures 11.5x10” and is made from a thin sheet of plastic and vacuformed accent pieces indicating audio receptors and a vacuform top with Space Cadet symbol and “Space Helmet” text pressed into plastic. Main portion of helmet has slight tape residue and loss of silvering agent but still Exc. Set comes with original envelope containing brass clasps to assemble helmet, illustrations printed on front. Rare in this condition due to the fragile nature of the materials helmet is made from. Unlisted in the Hake guide.
