Item Description
5-3/8x9.5” glassine envelope contains fold-out cardboard “Launching Cradle, Spaceship Balloon, Jet-Propelled Rocket Balloon.” Made by the Oak Rubber Company ©Rockhill Productions c. 1950s. Spaceships used the power of the air leaving the balloon to achieve flight. “Spaceship Balloon” has Tom Corbett illustration. Rare item and even rarer found with balloon still in a pliable condition. Balloon with Tom Corbett image has darkened slightly with age but remains VF. Cardboard “Launching Cradle” remains unpunched and NM. Envelope has a pair of .5” long tears in upper left-hand corner with a small chip missing. Fine.
