Item Description
Approx. 11.75x18.5" thin artboard w/India ink original art by Charles "Doc" Winner. Art is for Nov. 15, 1936 and features total 12 panels (counting both title panels, each having title paste-overs). Top row of panels are for "Daffy Doodles," a collection of single panel gags consisting of "Dizzy Thoughts From Our Readers." These are mostly word play in nature. "Alexander Smart, Esq." page consists of six panels, featuring Alexander coming across unattended baby stroller. Observing the infant's big brother playing in an adjacent field, Alexander plots to teach the boy a lesson, walking off w/the stroller. Fifth and sixth panels feature boy approaching w/policeman, stating Alexander has kidnapped the child. Last panel shows cop dragging a bruised Alexander to jail. Fourth panel has King Features Syndicate copyright strip. Back has pasted printer's label and front left/right margins have printer centering labels. Top and left margins have been trimmed, not affecting art. Pinholes at top corners. Art remains clean and Exc.
