Item Description
Buttons are 1.25" up to 2.25" for the 1915 pair which with their ribbon badges are 4.25" long. Group begins with two beautiful buttons, each with American Artworks back paper. These almost certainly were used at an expo but exactly which one is unknown to us. We have seen a few additional and probably about six in all. These read "Souvenir American Indian Scene" and "Souvenir Japan Scene." Given the company's years in business, these could range from 1904 to 1915. Next are the ribbon badges for "Panama Pacific International Exposition." The one on the left was issued for the "Closing Day" while the one on the right was issued to "Admit One Opening Day." The closing day example is NM displaying Mint while the opening day version has a piece of clear tape across the reverse to hold the totally split ribbon in place. Next is brass and rwb ribbon badge with text below the eagle "Women's Committee Sesqui-Centennial." First we've seen. Also from same fair is button reading "American Federation Of Labor/Labor Day Celebration Sept. 6, 1926." Final two items were issued for the "Texas Centennial Exposition" in 1936 and one from "General Electric/New York World's Fair 1940/Pittsfield." These were issued naming various cities from which GE employees traveled to the fair. The Texas button has slight trace of stain on the lower rim edge but barely detectable. Other items are all Exc. to Mint except for the ribbon damage. A nice group.
