Item Description
Group of three rare expo items, each the first we've seen in our 50 years. First is a paper 6.25" long designed like a "Gold Medal" award with text below the medal design for "General Excellence And Superiority Studebaker Bros..." Reverse of the piece has a paragraph of promotional text titled "Owners Of Studebaker Vehicles..." and listing their various offices including factory at South Bend, Indiana. NM. Next is 5.25" tall ribbon badge with ribbon suspending Mint luster brass frame holding a celluloid at the center picturing four buffalo. The initials on the celluloid stand for Volunteer Firemen's Association and includes the words "En Route To" giving the dates of "Aug, 21, 24, 1901." At the top is a ribbon with the words "Uncle Sam" and naming "Lynn, Mass" apparently the town from which the firemen were departing. Back of ribbon has four small spots of scrapbook paper residue but otherwise NM displaying Mint. Last in enamel and brass is a 3.25" metal badge with hanger in white enamel naming "Los Angeles, Cal. 1906" and the name of the Shrine lodge "Acca/Richmond." Below white enamel text names "Jamestown Exposition 1607-1907/Virginia" while at center is brass and red enamel image of "Pocahontas." A few minor and tiny traces of tarnish. Made by W&H. Exc.
