Item Description

22x28.28" on thick cardboard. Known to be printed by Globe Poster. Design features floating head portraits of artists and a photo of Otis w/"His Orchestra And Barrel House Revue" at upper right. Little Esther was only 14 at the time of this tour and her single "Double Crossin' Blues" would spend two months as a Billboard #1 R&B smash hit. Esther was discovered by Otis who nurtured her vocal talent and produced and arranged her music. Among the other notable artists discovered by Otis are Jackie Wilson, Hank Ballard, Little Willie John and the other acts listed on this poster Mel Walker and Big Mamma Thorton who by 1950 had not yet adopted her iconic title and is listed as Willie Mae Thornton. Bottom right corner has three creases most notable is a 4" that affects the "Te" in "Terrific". Top right corner has a 6" crease in the blank field. Otherwise moderate age toning and handling wear consistent w/light use. Fine. Rare early R&B tour blank w/terrific design and color.
