Item Description
Lot of 17 sheets, each 8.5x11" w/mimeographed four panel set-ups featuring preliminary original art for four-panel gags. Art is drawn and each is signed by "Little Audrey" artist Isidore "Izzy" Klein. Klein was a prolific cartoon artist from the 1920s to 1950s and beyond, including writing and animating "Silly Symphonies" for Disney in the 1930s. During the 1950s, he worked for Paramount Famous Studios and it was during this time he drew these comics, most likely for a syndicated comic strip. Art is done in colored pencil/ink, being well done and many of them are quite funny. Some content of note includes Audrey going to market, malt shop, zoo, playing cowboy, at the beach, etc. Sheets have even lt. aging and some scattered handling wear. VF overall. A nice grouping showcasing Klein's gag writing style.
