Item Description

15.5x20.5" stiff textured paper poster for Sept. 21, 1973 concert that took place at the South Hall Auditorium in Memphis, TN featuring the New York Dolls as well as Iggy Pop and The Stooges. Poster features the album cover to The New York Dolls' self-titled debut Mercury Records album. This show gained notoriety due to a riot breaking out during The New York Dolls' set, during which a policeman assaulted one of the fans close to the stage. Dolls' lead singer David Johanssen intervened, was arrested and spent the night in jail. Poster has some lt. even aging but is Exc. overall. Scarce poster featuring two of the most influential early punk and glam rock groups.
