Item Description
10-3/8x13-3/8" hand-painted bkg. shows cottage interior and comes w/pair of 9.75x12" acetate sheets w/hand-painted images from 1935 "Happy Harmonies" cartoon "Alias St. Nick," which saw the debut of MGM's diminutive mouse character Little Cheeser. Directed by Rudolf Ising (who worked w/Walt Disney on Oswald the Rabbit cartoons, later leaving to work on "Looney Tunes" and help found the MGM Cartoon Studio), the cartoon debuted Nov. 16, 1935. The two acetate sheets feature image of Cat in ragged Santa Claus disguise as Little Cheeser runs away in fright from him (cel is numbered "683") while other sheet (numbered "349")  features Mother Mouse and nine mice children in their pajamas. Painted bkg. is not from this cartoon but is of the same vintage and makes for nice display together. Cels has slight edge rippling but nearly all paint remains intact, w/just a few tiny spots missing and would look Exc. if framed together.
