Item Description
11.5x17.5" thin artboard has preliminary pencils by noted Marvel Comics artist John Buscema, known for his run on the series "The Avengers" and "The Silver Surfer" as well as the over 200 stories he illustrated  featuring the sword and sorcery hero Conan the Barbarian. Offered here is a page featuring rough pencils for a comic book page, w/small panel at upper left showing Conan and woman reacting in shock as rest of page reveals a man has collapsed just inside the window. Even though this is preliminary art, Buscema's pencils feature nice detailing, including Conan holding a match to a candle to better illuminate the situation. We are unsure what story this art was created for or if it even saw publication. Reverse features fully rendered and inked full body image of Conan unsheathing his sword. Front has various production notations in pencil at top margin, which has 1.25" tear (not infringing upon art). Fine overall w/VF /Exc. art.
