Item Description
Extensive lot of 21 pieces, all featuring art from or from the time of Don Sherwood's run on  "The Flintstones." Sherwood (1930-2010) is also known for creating "Dan Flagg," the first nationally syndicated comic strip to feature a US Marine. Lot includes 16 (mostly) signed stats (one which has been hand-colored). Lot also includes some of Sherwood's pen and ink original art, five pieces in total, ranging from 6.75x17.25" to 17-1/8x22-7/8". This includes three daily strips, a Sunday page as well as a large hand-colored model sheet. One daily strip is single panel, showing Fred walking Dino in the rain as another man is seen w/his pet duck, who swims in gutter; one is two panels and features Pebbles crawling away from Wilma and old woman's conversation to be found by Fred, who is returning home from work; last daily strip features three panels and shows Fred finding blonde hair on his person, only to extol Wilma's broad-mindedness, only for Wilma and Pebbles to glare at him in last panel. Sunday page has eight panels and features Fred and Dino fighting for control of the TV, only for Fred to get angry and declare "One Of Us Has To Go!!" which causes Dino to pack bags for Fred and turn his show back on. Hand-inked and colored model sheet features Fred, Barney, Wilma, Pebbles, Bam-Bam, Betty and Dino. Varying degrees of handling wear/aging, w/most in VF condition; all art is Exc.
