Item Description
37" long including 3.5" streamers. Features soldiers standing at attention w/one on horseback carrying an American flag in the foreground. Text reads "Mobilization Of N.G.P. Mt. Gretna PA. 1916 For Mexican Active Service." Produced for the departure of the Pennsylvania National Guard on a mission tracking Pancho Villa, after he had raided the American town of Columbus, New Mexico in 1916. Moderate overall aging w/light crazing of applied letters. .5" loss at point and .25" hole in the "P" of "N.G.P." that is barely visible from the front. Fine. Image of troops remains strong w/bold colors.
