For Edgar Church biography, see previous item #1693. Offered here are two pieces of original art. Both artboards have screentone accents and feature original pen and ink art by Church for "The Messenger" publication cover and interior page, cover w/attached "Ideal Art Service" business card attached to reverse, both signed by Church on backs. First is for "The Messenger Pioneer Life Member News" Feb./March 1968 newsletter cover on 10-1/8x13-3/8" artboard depicting Valentine card w/bird as well as image of woman walking lamb in the wind as lion lurks in bkg. Title at top and bottom line of text are paste-overs. Age spots to title paste-over, but art remains clean and Exc. Second is for interior page w/state paste-over on 9-3/8x14-1/8" artboard. Stat depicts same girl from cover in Western garb on galloping horse, hand-lettered "The Messenger" sash trailing behind her. Image has had some white correctional fluid touch-ups and screentone added to shirt. Original hand-lettered "So Long - -See You Next Month" text bubble at lower right. Church signature at bottom left is also paste-over. Editorial notations at bottom. VF.
