Item Description
10-5/8x15.75" thin artboard features artist Billy Graham's pencils w/inking by Bob McLeod for page 14 of the Jan. 1976 issue of "Jungle Action" Vol. 2 #19, which featured The Black Panther and was published by Marvel Comics. Graham (1935-1999) was an African-American comic-book artist best known for his work on the Marvel Comics series "Luke Cage, Hero For Hire" and the Black Panther feature in "Jungle Action." Page features 11 panels and is from new storyline that had Black Panther visiting Monica Lynne's hometown. Page features Lynne and Kevin Trublood and Black Panther appears in two panels (one is tiny outline in tree seen from distance). Last panel features great image of Black Panther perched in tree w/unconscious hooded man draped over branch. Page has text referring to the Ku Klux Klan. Fourth and eighth panels have screentone shading accents which have aged. Bottom panel was attached to rest of page w/masking tape on reverse. Last panel has paste-over line of text and single word re-lettered. Aged strips of tape at top/bottom center. Margins have scattered editorial notations. Reverse has two Marvel copyright stamps w/date inked on one. Additional penciled "11/19/78 - Holiday, Inn, Phila - 'Women In Comics' Con" date/notation on reverse. VF.
