Item Description
15.75x25" thick artboard has mixed media original art by Arnold Roth, noted for his humor work for Harvey Kurtzman's "Trump, Humbug" and "Help" and his numerous covers for "TV Guide" and "Esquire" as well as cartoons for "Playboy, Punch, The National Lampoon" and "The New Yorker," winning numerous awards over the years. Art is titled "Boat Show" at bottom center and shows woman dragging extremely reluctant man towards very literal house boat as two men wearing matching blazers and ribbons trim tree and rake "yard." Other boats can be seen in bkg. We are unsure what publication published this cartoon, but it was published as noted "Cold Pressed Second" and "Used" w/Jan. 22, 1973 date on reverse. Roth has signed art at lower right. Upper left and bottom margins have some strips of tape staining and top margin has remnants of tape likely used to secure overlay. Artboard has some corner tip/margin wear but art would mat and frame for an Exc. display. Large, detailed and colorful.
