Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains 4.5x11.5x8" tall (to top of separate rider figure) tin litho motorcycle w/rubber front and drive tire and separate tin litho fireman rider figure. Made in Japan by Modern Toys/Masudaya, 1960s. Graphic box lid includes "He Rides On, Drives, Stops And Gets Off The Cycle By Himself!!" descriptive text. Box lid has scattered creases and aging/dust soiling. Box bottom has 1.75" puncture/tears at left/right ends. Fine overall. Fireman rider figure has original separate tin litho fire helmet w/attached "FD" shield. Nicely detailed w/"FD" symbols on sides of gas tank and "Fire Dept." name on rear fender. Battery-operated toy's functions work, including headlight that lights. Moderate aging to luster housing around headlight, but o/w VF/Exc. w/just lt. paint wear in the form of tiny nicks. Several versions of this toy were produced, this fireman version is rare w/its box.
