Item Description
9.25x12.25" first edition hardcover w/144 pages and original dustjacket. Subtitled "The Greatest Covers Of Detective Comics From The '30s To The '50s," book was published by Artabras. ©1994 DC Comics. Book features many classic "Detective Comics" covers featuring Batman. Inside frontispiece has been signed by Golden Age Batman artist Jerry Robinson, who has added large half-face sketch of Batman (which bleeds through slightly on blank back) and "For My Friend Charlie" inscription and "6/2000" date. Second following page has been signed by seven - artists Sheldon "Shelly" Moldoff, Lew Schwartz, Creig Flessel, Jack Burnley, Joe Giella, Jim Mooney (signed w/moon face sketch and letter "E") as well as DC Comics editor and the man responsible for buying Superman from Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster - Vincent Sullivan. Signatures are in blue ink/felt tip pen, black felt tip pen and gold paint pen, some adding personal inscriptions. Some lt. wear to DJ, but o/w Exc. Unique signed book, all signatures were obtained in-person. Charlie Roberts Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
