Item Description
Lot of five approx. 7x23" thin artboards w/original pen and ink art for 1930 daily strips, complete w/Chicago Tribune copyright paste-over strips. Each features four panels w/some scattered blue pencil shading. Dates are April 3 and 5 as well as May 17, 26-27. Winnie appears in all but two panels on last strip (this strip also features a politically-incorrect African-American porter. All have pencil caption at top and are boldly signed "Branner" in last panel. Scattered lt. dust soiling w/scattered edge wear. Overall Fine/VF. Nice examples of the first comic strip to revolve around a woman w/her own career.
