Item Description
Pair of 14.25x20.5" thin artboards w/original pen and ink art for first pages of two different Sgt. Preston stories from "Sgt. Preston" #16 comic book published by Dell in 1955. Both pages feature art by Alberto Giolitti (1923-1993), known for his work on Gold Key's "Star Trek" comic book. "Buried Treasure" (page 10) features five panels, first panel featuring shipwreck on the coast of British Columbia w/Dr. Fred Wisdom and Prof. Emmett Sheridan in makeshift camp awaiting rescue. Last panel reveals men approaching the camp. Sgt. Preston does not appear on this page. "Sgt. Preston" and story title in first panel are both paste-overs. "Down-River Adventure" (page 21) features four panels w/Sgt. Preston arriving in town on horseback w/King, only to hear a bank robbery taking place. Sgt. Preston appears in three panels (one in shadow silhouette). "Sgt. Preston" and story title in first panel are both paste-overs, w/"Adventure" being misaligned. Pages have slight curl and some scattered handling wear/aging but art remains clean and Exc.
