Item Description
11.5x16.5" thin DC Comics artboard has pen and ink original art for the first page of the 1991 "Adventures Of Superman" annual. Page features three panels, showing Superman emerging from ocean w/bank robber in one hand, his getaway vehicle in the other. Second panel shows cosmic hero Waverider observing as Superman flies away, contemplating if Superman could be the hero that goes evil, becoming the despotic villain Monarch. Last panel shows a different angle of the same scene as second panel w/closer image of Waverider. Superman appears in all three panels. Art was for "Beyond The Reach Of Time" storyline written by Louise Simonson as a tie-in the "Armageddon 2001" storyline that ran across DC's 1991 annuals. Art was provided by popular DC/Marvel artist Bryan Hitch, noted for his work on "The Authority, JLA" and "The Ultimates." Handwritten title at top along w/handwritten issue/page number.
