Item Description
11x17" thin DC Comics artboard has pen and ink original art for page 35 of the 1986 special "Heroes Against Hunger" that was published to help victims of the Ethiopian famine. The issue featured a bevy of writers and artists as well as many of DC Comics heroes and other characters. This page features four panels, showing Superman bursting onto scene to assist Lex Luthor (in his power armor) in efforts to combat the evil alien Master, who plays music from keyboard on his chest, which summons beam of energy. Superman and Luthor are seen in total of three panels. This page featured Len Wein as writer w/art by "Watchmen" artist Dave Gibbons w/inks by Bruce Patterson. This is one of two pages Gibbons produced for this one-shot. Handwritten title/issue and page number at top along w/some editorial notations along margins. Top margin has been trimmed, but all pertinent text remains. Some scattered dust soiling and corner tip wear but still VF/Exc. overall. Franco Toscanini Collection.
