Item Description
Thomas Yeates is a comic book/strip artist best known for illustrating the "Prince Valiant" and "Zorro" comic strips as well as work on characters created by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Offered here is 14.25x22.5" thin artboard w/original pen and ink art featuring six panels, showing Tarzan wading into waters in the nude and diving amongst various fish. Bottom panels show him fashioning fishing spear, cutting his hair w/shells and eating clams. Four of the panels have dialog block paste-overs. For page 9 of Jan. 1993 Malibu Comics issue. Yeates has signed in black ink at bottom, as well as noting issue/page numbers. Area of faint staining at lower right, but this does not affect art or signature. VF/Exc. Comes w/11x15.5" Tarzan print created May 16, 1993 for "Super-Con/Vallejo." Hand-numbered "76/200," Yeates has also signed at lower left.
