Item Description
13x18.75"  (w/attached 1x11.75" printing strip at left) artboard w/original pen and ink art for Feb. 26, 1989 Sunday page. Art by noted comic artist Gray Morrow, who worked for DC Comics and Archie Publications throughout the 1970s and 1980s. He took over the "Buck Rogers" comic strip in 1979 and illustrated the "Tarzan" Sunday page 1983-2001. Art features six panels, first panel having title paste-over. Art shows Tarzan freeing caged apes within ship and leading them to freedom while fighting sailors. Morrow has signed twice in black ink at bottom left, inscribing "To Mike Shaw - Best" w/additional inscription from writer Don Kraar. Various copyright strips paste-overs below art and before last panel. Four panel have even aging (likely from shading accents that are no longer present) and artboard has moderate handling wear. Fine. Great action-packed later Sunday page.
