Item Description
See previous items #1599-1600. Offered here is the pen and ink original art for three Sunday pages on thin artboards measuring between 9x21" and 14.5x23.25". Art for Feb. 1, 1948 features Tim talking to and riding Paddy the pigeon to visit friend, Tim promptly getting in boy's train set and then crashing it. The three strips were cut out and applied to larger artboard which has original art (also by Link) for "Ching Chow" bottomer strip, featuring politically incorrect Chinese character Ching Chow as tiger tamer, w/tiger putting its head in Ching Chow's mouth in last panel. Art for March 21, 1948 features Tim w/Paddy again, Tim jumping onto nearby kite, only to get caught in power lines and need rescuing from Paddy. The three strips were again cut out and applied to larger artboard. Scattered margin aging, o/w art remains clean and Exc. Each has been signed at top by Link. Art for Aug. 5, 1951 features old man trying to figure out who has been stealing his strawberries. After ruling out Tim and Paddy, he decides to wait up w/gun for thief, who is revealing in last panel to be tiny girl. "Tiny Tim" title is aged paste-over. First panel has replaced text block which shows again. The two strips were cut out and applied to larger artboard which has original art (also by Link) for "Ching Chow" bottomer strip, featuring Ching Chow carrying high sign that reads "Who Is Always Prying Has A Dangerous Life." Moderate edge wear to artboard w/creases at bottom left. Scattered margin aging. Fine overall. Each has The Chicago Tribune Copyright strip paste-over.
